According to the Cambodian Labour Law, Articles 261, 264, 265 and Prakas No. 196, dated August 20, 2014; all foreign nationals working in the Kingdom are required to hold a work permit.
The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MOLVT) has decided to upgrade from a manual to an online system (Central Management System). An online processing system has been established in cooperation with a private company (E-Solution). It is effective by January, 2017. E (Business) visa is for employment in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Though, you are required to apply for a work permit if you start holding E (Business)-multiple entries visa.
All E(Business) visa holders in the Kingdom now can apply for your work permit online through www.fwcms.mlvt.gov.kh. Also, you can apply for your work permit through any trusted agent if you don’t know how to complete the process by yourself. If you entrust Making It Easy, the following are our procedures:
Required Checklist for Employer (registered employer): -Company incorporation certificate issued by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) -Articles of Incorporation with MOC (if applicant is a shareholder only) -Patent certificate issued by the General Department of Taxation (GDT) -Validated passport -E(Business) visa -Passport photo (digital file) -Current work permit card (for renewal only)
Required Checklist for Employee & Employment Contract with MOLVT (registered employee): -Enterprise Registration Certificate with MOLVT -Quota/Employee registration certificate with MOLVT -Validated passport -E(Business) visa -Passport photo (digital file) -Current work permit card (for renewal only)
Required Checklist for Self-Employed/Freelancer (He/She is not a registered employer, nor a registered employee. He/She makes a living in Cambodia and holding E-Business visa.): -Validated passport -E(Business) visa -Passport photo (digital file) -Current work permit card (for renewal only)
Processing Period: 15-20 working days after all supporting documents are submitted and payment is made
Fees: -$250 for all types of Foreigner Work Permit -Inclusive of all government charges and service charges -Medical check-up arrangement and employment contract with MOLVT are included -Exclusive of any recall penalties, late renewal penalties or VAT
Notice: -Work permit expires on December 31st. -Work permit renewal needs to be submitted between 1st January to 31st March. Late renewal is subject to penalty. -Recall penalty is $101/year (the calendar year that the passport holder holds E (Business visa). -We can also arrange all supporting documents for you if needed.
